The Setup
We went all out on this trip with a full overlanding kit:
- Cybertruck with rooftop tent – Setup was a breeze, and the tent provided perfect shelter for the desert nights.
- 270-degree awning with LED lights – The awning gave us plenty of shaded space during the day, and the integrated LED lights made evenings around the camp so much more convenient. Whether we were cooking or just hanging out, the lighting was spot on.
- CyberTent Mode – This feature was a real game-changer. The Cybertruck’s suspension automatically adjusted to perfectly level the truck bed for the rooftop tent, making setup on uneven terrain hassle-free. We simply engaged CyberTent Mode, and the truck leveled itself out. It doesn’t get much easier than that.
The Rack Platform
Our rack platform is designed to perfectly align with the bed, so no matter where we set up, the tent stayed level. It’s a great solution for overlanding on uneven ground, ensuring a flat and comfortable base for the night.
Performance Highlights
The Cybertruck handled everything Joshua Tree threw at us, from rugged terrain to soft sand. The 270-degree awning with LED lights was a standout. It not only provided excellent coverage during the heat of the day but also illuminated our camp at night, which made cooking and relaxing under the stars even better.
The Experience
Joshua Tree is a magical place, and having the right gear made it even better. Waking up to the sunrise, brewing coffee under the awning, and enjoying the vast desert landscapes in comfort is something I’ll never forget. The Cybertruck’s overlanding capabilities, paired with the rooftop tent, awning, and CyberTent Mode, created the perfect setup for an epic adventure.
If you’re into overlanding or even just weekend camping trips, I highly recommend this setup. The Cybertruck’s combination of ruggedness and comfort makes it the ideal basecamp for outdoor adventures.
